About The Position

Basic electrical assembly of units according to product specifications. Follows blueprints to put together electrical components, devices, tools, and products using hand-power tools and other electrical assembly equipment. Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment. This role also involves maintaining high levels of personal productivity and efficiency, eliminating and reporting mistakes that lead to material loss and productivity declines, and eliminating and reporting accidents. A professional and positive demeanor is required when interacting with Evapco team members, representatives, and customers.

Requirements

  • Capable of and demonstrate all skills required of an Evaporator Assembly Technician.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, is required.
  • Use, read, and comprehend a tape measure to within 1/32”, is required.
  • Basic nomenclature and practical use of hand tools is required.
  • Reading and understanding Evapco production specifications, engineering drawings, and BOM’s, is required.
  • Familiar with and understand the proper use of basic hand tools: Conduit benders, Wire strippers, Pipe threaders (handheld and stationary), Wrenches, Screwdrivers, hammers.
  • Familiar with and understand the proper use of power tools: screw guns, caulk guns, reciprocating saw, jigsaw, drills.
  • Must be able to use an overhead crane.
  • 3-7 years experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding amperages and voltages for proper wiring sizes is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of NEC/ NFPA 70 code and how to find information within the code.
  • Basic understanding of PLC boards.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical assembly of units according to product specifications.
  • Follow blueprints to assemble electrical components, devices, tools, and products using hand-power and other electrical assembly equipment.
  • Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Maintain high levels of personal productivity and work efficiency.
  • Eliminate and report mistakes that lead to material loss and productivity declines.
  • Eliminate and report accidents that lead to personal injury.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when working with other Evapco team members, representatives, and customers.
  • Understand code for conduit sizing.
  • Understand amperages and voltages for proper wire sizing.
  • Bend and mount conduit.
  • Label and pull wire.
  • Layout and mount components on the control back panel.
  • Wire and label back panel components.
  • Layout piping and wiring of the unit.
  • Terminate the main control panel.
  • Test run equipment and wired units.
  • Guide all technicians in safety procedures and the proper wearing and use of PPE for job tasks.
  • Help all technicians resolve quality problems and issues.
  • Relay problems and issues of prints.
  • Complete all inspection forms and tasks before moving to the next job.
  • Maintain a clean working area throughout the day.
  • Be in the designated cleaning area in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and efficiently assemble basic models of Evapco Eco-Air products.
  • Read and comprehend various engineering and production documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Working under close supervision, assist as directed at customer locations to repair and install Evapco equipment.
  • Participate in team and shop business problem-solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements.
  • Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity targets.
  • Attend training courses as directed by management.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
