About The Position

Performs work in all areas of plant as required to install and maintain electrical machinery, instrumentation, and controls in the facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Min 5 Years Electrical Manufacturing Experience or education/experience combined.

Responsibilities

  • Performs highly skilled electrical maintenance tasks including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical machinery, instrumentation, and controls throughout the plant.
  • Installation of electrical equipment, motors, starters, conduit, wire, etc.
  • Repair of electrical tools and equipment, including power tools, test equipment, etc.
  • Troubleshooting of AC (alternating current), DC (direct current) and variable frequency drives, instruments, and control systems.
  • PM (preventative maintenance) DC motors and other electro-mechanical components (brakes, clutches, solenoids, etc.).
  • Recalibrating instruments, sensors, control valves, etc.
  • Installation and programming of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and its use in troubleshooting.
  • Documentation of electrical systems (both hardware and software).
  • Maintenance of files on motor equipment and PM including drawings and schematics for permanent records.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of high and medium voltage equipment including MCC’s, transformers, switchgear, and substations.
  • Manufacturing of electrical control systems including panel layout, wiring, installation, etc.
  • Ability to program and maintain HMI’s
  • Assisting with mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Maintains acceptable levels of housekeeping in electric shop areas.
  • Maintains operations by reading, interpreting, and applying complex written instructions in the form of Standard Operating Procedures and other written instructions.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by Electrical Supervisor.
  • Follow CMMS procedures to report follow-up work and work found on PM’s.
  • Consistently practices safe working habits and actively work to promote safety to others.
  • Assure completion of work assignments when working alone or with assistance from other mechanics. Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Comply and understand NFPA 70E.
