About The Position

This position assists in the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems and equipment within the school district. The role requires a minimum of one year of previous on-the-job training and instruction in electrical systems and equipment, or a vocational/technical certificate in an electrical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A high school diploma or GED is required. The employee must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with a safe driving history. All prospective employees must pass a Level 2 background check, including fingerprinting and checks against various criminal history databases and registries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year previous on-the-job training and instruction in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment; or a vocational/technical certificate in an electrical area or a combination of previous education/training/experience which provides for an equivalent background necessary to perform the work.
  • Must be a high school graduate or have passed the G.E.D. equivalency examination.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License appropriate for the vehicle/equipment assigned and maintain the same during employment.
  • Must have safe driving history prior to employment (no accumulation of points totaling 8 or more in any 12-month period within the three (3) years immediately preceding the record search; and no conviction for DUI within the seven (7) years immediately preceding the record search. A no-contest plea shall be considered the same as a conviction).
  • Must maintain a safe driving record while employed.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
