Under the oversight of the Manager Electrical Technical Operations, this role is responsible for all electrical and maintenance aspects of the company’s fleet and island. This includes assisting with departmental budgets, liaising with regulatory bodies like USCG and classification societies, and overseeing compliance with technical aspects of applicable maritime regulations. The position also involves managing vendors and onboard teams to ensure Company standards are maintained during installation or repair of system components, maintaining electrical and operational standards, and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are taken. A key responsibility is maintaining a shore-based library of technical information for each vessel and conducting ship walks for assessments. The role also encompasses implementing the Safety Management System (SMS) policies and procedures, maintaining and repairing satellite systems, providing shore-based assistance to Masters and Officers, and communicating with Chief Engineers on relevant issues. Additionally, the manager will run monthly status reports on overdue maintenance, coordinate with Marine Operations on GMDSS and radio communications, and provide technical support to various departments including Entertainment, Technology, Safety, and Security. Support for dry-docks and participation in vendor meetings are also part of the role, along with keeping executive leadership informed of ongoing and planned matters.
