About The Position

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for their Germantown, WI location. This role will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair of paper-board manufacturing equipment. The opportunity includes 2nd and 3rd shift availability. Primary duties involve providing safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical and electrical experience, familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, and basic troubleshooting experience with a proven ability in machine repair.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years in troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level.
  • Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Able to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives.
  • PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of power transmission equipment and bearings.
  • Familiarity with pumps, both air and electric.
  • Able to install and troubleshoot basic 3 phase motor control circuits.
  • Some knowledge of the various types of sensors and limit switches.
  • Familiar with computers and Microsoft software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic welding skills preferred but not required.
  • Military training and or Technical School preferred.
