About The Position

Minerva Dairy is seeking a skilled, safety-first Industrial Maintenance Electrician to support our manufacturing and packaging operations. This hands-on role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical and electro-mechanical systems ranging from low-voltage control circuits (24V DC / 110V AC) up to 3-phase 480V AC distribution and motor power. The ideal candidate blends strong electrical diagnostics with core mechanical troubleshooting in an active food processing environment, ensuring high equipment uptime while adhering to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant (food, dairy, beverage, or continuous processing preferred).
  • Demonstrated competence safely servicing and troubleshooting 110V, 240V, and 480V 3-phase power.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, LOTO protocols, and Arc Flash electrical safety.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial motors, control circuits, relays, sensors, and basic PLC ladder logic/fault codes using digital multimeters, and clamp meters
  • Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, climb ladders/platforms, work in cool/damp washdown environments, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to work Sunday through Thursday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and work extended shifts or weekend emergency call-ins when production needs dictate.

Nice To Haves

  • State Journeyman Electrician License, State Electrical Contractor License, or relevant Associate Degree / Apprenticeship in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash Electrical Safety training.
  • Experience in food/dairy processing environments (sanitary pumps, CIP systems, pasteurization systems, and washdown enviornemnts).
  • Basic welding/sanitary fabrication or light machining skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment operating at 110V, 240V, and 480V 3-phase systems.
  • Diagnose and repair power distribution equipment, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, contactors, and relays.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, soft starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor control centers (MCCs).
  • Troubleshoot automated control circuits utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley), I/O modules, instrumentation (temperature, flow, level, pressure sensors), and HMIs.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, ladder logic, P&IDs, and equipment technical manuals.
  • Run conduit, pull wire, terminate panels, and install new field devices cleanly to sanitary wash down and NEC code standards.
  • Support routine mechanical maintenance and emergency repairs on centrifugal/positive-displacement pumps, gearboxes, homogenizers/separators, valves, pneumatic actuators, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) routines and calibrate electrical/process instrumentation per schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance leadership to quickly resolve line stoppages and identify permanent root causes.
  • Execute strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and zero-energy state verification prior to servicing equipment.
  • Comply with NFPA 70E / Arc Flash standards and wear all mandated personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain complete compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), SQF/food safety protocols, and sanitary maintenance standards (preventing foreign material contamination, tool accountability, clean-as-you-go).
