About The Position

Reliable Robotics is developing safety-enhancing technology for aviation, with the goal of making air transportation safer and enabling automated movement of goods and, eventually, people. The Electrical Systems Engineer will join the Vehicle Design and Integration team and help integrate mechanical, electrical, navigation, control, and safety requirements into electrical systems that support aviation automation. The role collaborates across teams to develop system architecture and incorporate requirements across the hardware and software stack. The engineer will refine and implement the avionics system architecture and lead its physical implementation. They will drive system-level design, testing, and integration of avionics hardware, including computing, sensing, actuation, communication, power, and display systems. The role works across engineering teams to deliver electrical system designs that meet system-level and certification requirements. The engineer will own components such as IMUs, air data computers, and batteries, including their aircraft installation, verification, and aircraft-level certification. The position is based at Reliable Robotics’ facility in Mountain View, California, and requires willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. The role involves access to information subject to U.S. export controls; employment is contingent on the applicant’s capacity to comply with applicable export-control laws. The company describes the team as fast-paced, with team members taking on multiple responsibilities, and seeks a diligent, detail-oriented engineer.
