About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need on the E-7 Program for an Associate Electrical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer in Tukwila, WA. As a member of the E-7 Electrical Power System Engineering team you will be working in a highly dynamic team environment developing electrical power design for both the aircraft primary power system - Electrical Power Generation System (EPGS) and the aircraft secondary power system - Secondary Power Distribution System (SPDS). This position requires working with suppliers to provide qualified hardware as well as working with the program wiring team to design the aircraft power system. This position will support lab test, aircraft build, flight test and operational support. The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world. The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously. It can provide situational awareness and direct other assets such as fighter jets and warships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in Electrical engineering
  • Experience with ELA, ICDs, SCDs
  • Experience with Functional Schematic Drafting & Design.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Document electronic and electrical system requirements for EPGS and SPDS components and software
  • Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware designs and interface specifications
  • Test to validate system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Work with suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements in the development and production of EPGS and SPDS components and software
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Troubleshoot E-7 EPGS and SPDS.
  • Contribute to Specification Control Drawings (SCDs), Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Participate in the creation of certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related to FAA airworthiness requirements including; Electrical load analysis (ELA) documents
  • Designs Functional Schematics of the power system
  • Reports progress and elevates issues to manager as required
  • Support FAA Certification activities as required.
