About The Position

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing electrical operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. This role provides leadership to electrical staff, coordinates daily work activities, and supports ongoing maintenance and project work.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Electrician certification (required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical work, including supervisory experience
  • 3 years plus of Underground experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work day and night shifts
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in an underground mine environment

Nice To Haves

  • Valid underground supervisor ticket
  • Valid first aid
  • Supervisor training - leadership for safety excellence or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians and electrical apprentices
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and electrical codes
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and support maintenance repairs
  • Maintain records related to work orders, inspections, and materials
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to staff
  • Participate in continuous improvement and preventative maintenance initiatives
  • Oversee the execution of projects to ensure high level of performance, both in safety and efficiency
  • Responsible for the scheduling duties of all employees, communicating with superintendent, employees and clients.
  • Make recommendations for change and improvement at the field level.
  • Identify areas of concern and develop action plans to ensure workplace improvements
  • Conduct and participate in safety meetings, tool box talks, site inspections, and incident investigations
  • Ensure all employees are working to the highest standard of safety at all times
  • Assist in the development of all related JHA forms
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order
