About The Position

The Electrical Supervisor will work with the Reliability Engineer to analyze downtime reports, monitor the planned maintenance system (SAP), and ensure safety performance. This role involves collaborating with the Planner on electrical repairs and preventive maintenance, maintaining the Quality System, and creating/reviewing work instructions. The supervisor will also participate in safety training, interface with health and safety agencies, coordinate electrical employees, and ensure preventative actions are taken to avoid nonconformities.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Master Electrician or related field, or a high school education with specialized trades training in mechanical, electrical, maintenance shop, plumbing and/or welding crafts.
  • 5+ years industrial, mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Industry background in heavy manufacturing related industries preferred (mining, paper mills, steel plants, refining, utilities, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants).
  • Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions.
  • Working knowledge of material handling feeders, conveyor belt systems, and general knowledge of pumping systems.
  • Experience in PLC or Wonderware troubleshooting is required.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal/people skills.
  • Results driven.
  • Self-starter.
  • Able to initiate and be willing to hold others accountable for achieving company and site objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • SAP and Microsoft Project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze downtime reports to identify trends and correct system problems before they affect production.
  • Monitor the planned maintenance system (SAP) for completion of electrical maintenance.
  • Serve as a role model in safety performance for the electrical shop and others.
  • Work with the Planner on electrical repairs and preventive maintenance of process equipment.
  • Maintain Quality System policies and procedures.
  • Create or review all work instructions in the department for operational content.
  • Participate in appropriate safety training for all assigned employees.
  • Interface with MSHA and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal levels as required.
  • Coordinate and monitor the activities of all electrical employees assigned.
  • Ensure preventative action is taken to avoid the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product or process or to the quality system.
