About The Position

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical and electronic systems across assigned vessels. This role serves as the primary shore-side technical lead for shipboard electrical matters, supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, drydock planning, projects, compliance, and system reliability across the fleet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent maritime technical qualification preferred.
  • Chief Electrical Officer certification or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting electrical systems in passenger vessel or comparable maritime environments.
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, safety practices, planned maintenance systems, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preference to candidates based in the Seattle area; this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days/week in our Seattle-based office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to shipboard engineering teams for electrical system operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability.
  • Serve as the primary shore-side escalation point for complex electrical, automation, navigation, communication, and related system issues.
  • Plan and oversee electrical maintenance, drydock work, repairs, and upgrade projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and company SMS requirements.
  • Maintain technical records, support audits and investigations, and provide periodic reporting on vessel condition and key risks.
  • Support purchasing, budgeting, vendor coordination, and project execution for assigned vessels.
  • Conduct vessel visits to assess system condition, support troubleshooting, and identify improvement opportunities.
