About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment in Cascade Steel Rolling Mills (Mill), while providing technical guidance on assigned work and supporting code-compliant electrical installations. This role provides day-to-day technical guidance and direction on assigned work to Electricians and Electrical Apprentices, and supports the Electrical Supervisor and Electrical Manager in coordinating electrical maintenance and installation activities. The position ensures compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and Oregon electrical code, and collaborates with other departments to support production and minimize downtime. It also involves maintaining accurate records, assisting in the development of electrical projects, monitoring inventory, and being available for after-hours support. The role is responsible for authorizing and ensuring new services/equipment comply with Oregon electrical code, logging new installations, and staying updated with changes to electrical code.

Requirements

  • Oregon Journeyman license
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • S-General Electrical Supervisor or Limited Supervising Electrician license

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance and direction on assigned work to Electricians and Electrical Apprentices.
  • Support the Electrical Supervisor and Electrical Manager in coordinating electrical maintenance and installation activities.
  • Provide support in maintenance and repair work for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and Oregon electrical code.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including maintenance logs and reports, as well as compliance and installation documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production and minimize downtime.
  • Provide training and guidance to electrical staff.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of electrical projects and upgrades.
  • Work with planner to monitor inventory levels of electrical supplies and help with order as needed.
  • Be available after hours to be called in for troubleshooting or safety related reasons.
  • Authorize and ensure all new services/equipment is done to Oregon electrical code.
  • Log all new installations including any new circuits and submit to the county electrical inspection department.
  • Ensure that any changes to electrical code are followed and adjust working practices.
  • Review and support modifications to electrical installations to maintain compliance and operational reliability.
  • Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures and controls to better relate to the business.
  • Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
