About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Specialist - High Voltage to join their team in McLean, Virginia. This role involves inspecting, repairing, replacing, installing, adjusting, maintaining, and testing various medium and low voltage utility systems and equipment. The position requires a willingness to work rotational shifts, including days, evenings, nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Incumbents may operate industrial machinery, power tools, and motor vehicles, and perform tasks requiring walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials. Strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment are mandatory. Lifting weights over 50 pounds requires assistance. Requirements

Journeyman Electrician license.
Strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.
Strong background in low voltage switchgear maintenance and repair.
Thoroughly familiar with electrical test equipment.
Ability to write as well as comprehend written and oral instructions.
A willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Knowledge of current NEC regulations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
Eight years’ experience in the electrical trade in maintenance and/or construction required.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all medium and low voltage 15KV, 4160V, 480V and 208V utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switchgears, substations, distribution systems.
Enforce a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
Complete all training requirements and fulfill all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
Consistently provide services that meet customer expectations.
Carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
Read and understand Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
