About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Specialist - High Voltage to join our team in McLean, Virginia! This role involves inspecting, repairing, replacing, installing, adjusting, maintaining, and testing all medium and low voltage utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switchgears, substations, and distribution systems. The position requires adherence to strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. The Government has full control over granting, denying, withholding, or terminating security clearances for Contractor employees, and decisions on clearance requirements will be made by the customer based on access and requirements. Employees may be assigned other job-related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.
  • Strong background in low voltage switchgear maintenance and repair.
  • Thorough familiarity with electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to write as well as comprehend written and oral instructions.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Knowledge of current NEC regulations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • Eight years’ experience in the electrical trade in maintenance and/or construction required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all medium and low voltage 15KV, 4160V, 480V and 208V utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switchgears, substations, distribution systems.
  • Continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities.
  • Participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
  • Consistently providing services that meet customer expectations.
  • Carrying out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Reading and understanding Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Reading, understanding and implementing the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
