About The Position

Wallace Electric is seeking a Full-Time Service Technician Electrician to join their Service team. This role involves servicing and installing electrical systems and equipment, primarily in customer facilities. The technician will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining various systems during normal working hours and will be part of a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule. Additionally, the role includes performing small project electrical installations. Compensation will be based on qualifications.

Requirements

  • Must be an effective and professional communicator, both written and verbally, filling out daily paperwork correctly.
  • Strong commercial and industrial electrical background (5 years or more preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing test equipment
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain a specialized electrical service vehicle (License required with clean MVR)
  • Able to maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Able to demonstrate necessary computer and keyboard skills
  • Ability to manage customer and company specific information and documentation in an organized manner
  • Able to maintain high levels of productivity, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Able to be on twenty-four-hour call, on a rotating basis, as needed
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certified. Safety is a top priority
  • Able to bend and install various types of Conduits.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified to operate a Scissor lift, Boom lift, or Bucket truck but not mandatory. (Training can be provided.)

Responsibilities

  • Respond to a customer's electrical needs as directed in a professional manner
  • Understand and implement all OSHA requirements and the company's electric safety policies
  • Accurately enter all necessary data into service management software via mobile tablet or phone to update work orders for tracking, documentation and invoicing
  • Provide any other required reports to management, in a clear, legible and professional manner (Time Sheets, Employee Evaluations, Vehicle Inspections, Etc.)
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and determine the best course of action for repairs
  • Install all systems in accordance with the NEC and any applicable standards and specifications
  • Properly communicate all issues to the customer and to management
  • Requisition the necessary materials, tools, equipment, and manpower necessary to complete the work order
  • Effectively manage resources to best control budgets
  • Manage and care for a service vehicle, tools, material inventory, and equipment that are issued to you
  • Manage, train, and develop any manpower assigned to you
