About The Position

Develops and conducts programs to train clients and internal company employees. Develop course materials to include manuals, training aids, instructor outlines, and audio/visual materials. Support new business development and services as customer contact and liaison. Perform internal and external technical training on safe operation and maintenance and testing of electrical power system equipment. Perform internal training of ERS and HVM field service associates on operation and safe NETA based testing and maintenance of electrical power system equipment. Perform external training of ERS and HVM client personnel on safe operation of electrical power system equipment and electrical safe work practices. Responsible for developing, preparing, and conducting technical training programs. Develop content and instructional materials used in training delivery and design exercises to enhance classroom lecture content. Manage training programs (course/curriculum).

Requirements

  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with others, use sound judgment and possess good technical, teaching and business knowledge.
  • IEEE, IAEI and/or other professional organization involvement expected.
  • Make public speaking presentations as assigned.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and weekends, if required.
  • Must be available for out-of-area assignments of up to several weeks, and to assist on field assignments when required.
  • The associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell.
  • The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate Engineer (BSEE) with a minimum of 6 years in related electrical power field engineering and training, or graduate of applicable electrical technical school, Master’s Electrician License, or military equivalent and a minimum of 8 years in related electrical power field engineering training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and administering new training programs.
  • Develops outline, text, handouts, tests and designs of laboratory exercises.
  • Review classes and provide support and assistance to other instructors.
  • Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainee’s performance.
  • Perform field maintenance and testing support.
  • Provide training course development and support.
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to Training Services Service Center.
  • Promote, Schedule, coordinate, and communicate with all parties involved for training delivery.
  • Support sales and operations leaders to promote external training with customer representatives.
  • Attend/lead calls with clients to determine training needs, level of training needed, duration, etc. of training requests.
  • Course/Curriculum Management
  • Coordinate, schedule, reserve resources, manage duration and content, etc. for course offerings.
  • Work with internal and external clients to identify course content needs, determine duration of training, level of training, etc.
