Electrical QA/QC & Labeling Coordinator

Green Tanner IndustrialChandler, AZ
$28 - $32Hybrid

About The Position

This role is responsible for owning GTI’s electrical identification and labeling workflow for assigned projects. The goal is to ensure labels are accurate, compliant with project requirements, and delivered to the field on time. This position acts as a crucial link between QA/QC, Preconstruction, Engineering, and field teams by translating drawings and specifications into correct labels and tracking their status through installation and handoff.

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel use (formulas, structured tracking) and comfort working with Excel Macros / VBA for minor updates and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic one-line diagrams and construction documents to drive correct labeling decisions.
  • Strong quality mindset: detail orientation, self-check discipline, and ability to prevent downstream field impacts.
  • Clear communication and collaboration across QA/QC, precon, engineering, vendors, and field installers.
  • Ability to work independently with urgency, manage priorities, and maintain accurate documentation and status reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience working with macros/VBA preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical drawings (one-line diagrams preferred) and ability to interpret simple project specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through; able to manage multiple active projects and deadlines.
  • Comfort working in the field when needed to support manual label application and verification.
  • Good communication skills for coordination with both office and field teams; ability to raise issues early and clearly.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction card required (or obtained within onboarding timeline).

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end label generation and tracking process for assigned scopes (cable, equipment, and pathway identification).
  • Maintain the master Excel workbook/macros used to generate labels; make minor code updates as needed and escalate larger changes.
  • Validate inputs (drawings, one-lines, specs) and resolve gaps by coordinating with Project Engineers and field leadership.
  • Coordinate label delivery timing and priorities with field installers; escalate risks that could create rework, delays, or safety/quality issues.
  • Use standardized Excel templates and macros to generate cable and equipment labels; maintain version control and change history.
  • Interpret basic electrical one-line diagrams and construction documents to identify panels, transformers, devices, and connections that drive labeling.
  • Review labels for completeness and accuracy (IDs, panel names, circuit references, equipment names) before release to the field.
  • Communicate with Project Engineers when information is missing, unclear, or conflicting; document clarifications and update trackers.
  • Track label status (created, issued, installed, corrected) and maintain a clear handoff record to field teams.
  • Make minor updates to Excel logic, macros, or lookup tables as project changes occur; coordinate with technical support for larger enhancements.
  • Coordinate priorities and due dates with field installers so labels are available when work is ready; respond quickly to urgent field needs.
  • Manage label materials and supplies; track inventory and reorder to avoid work stoppage.
  • Review project specifications and owner standards related to identification/labeling; ensure outputs align with required formats and conventions.
  • Maintain organized project documentation in Procore and shared repositories to support audits, turnover, and closeout.
