About The Position

Our client is a leader in the Data Center / Mission Critical Facilities Market, providing comprehensive electrical contracting services nationwide. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. This role involves managing projects from inception to completion, including estimates, procurement, and post-implementation support. The ideal candidate will lead contractors and vendors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet company standards. Requirements

  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as a General Contractor.
  • Experience managing a budget of $100 million or more.
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed journeyman electrician (a plus).
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience / People and Resource Management.
  • Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
  • Ability to supervise the work of skilled workers and provide guidance and leadership.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints and specifications (both electrical and mechanical drawings).
  • Experience with Electrical Conduits / Power Systems such as UPS, Switchgear, Generators, PDU's.
  • Background or understanding of electrical installations including crown box, offset, and slice junction.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
  • Client Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skills.
  • Solid Construction Project Management experience.
  • Effective Communicator – emails, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Ability to successfully work independently; Self Starter, self-motivated, and attention to detail.
  • Travel as needed to project sites.
  • Solid Admin skills.
  • OSHA Certification (or ability to obtain one within the first 12 months of employment).
  • Finance Experience - forecasting, budgets, etc.
  • Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, Teams, Oracle Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD (a plus).

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS/Associate's Degree a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
  • Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects over $100 million, focusing on ground-up data centers (Greenfields), building repurposing (brownfields), or existing data center retrofits.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFIs to generate regional work.
  • Generate estimates, prepare, and review project proposals or plans to determine timeframes, work plans, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain logs to track project progress.
  • Oversee projects through on-site supervision to ensure construction aligns with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, costs, budget, P&L, scheduling, timeline, forecasting, expense tracking, and change order management.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Create and manage project schedules.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to manage daily activities impacting critical facilities construction projects.
  • Serve as the on-site client point of contact, representing the company in project meetings with contractors and GCs, and acting as a liaison with managers of all company departments.
  • Manage change management forms and create Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
  • Ensure contractors and vendors meet all day-to-day project responsibilities.
  • Manage a regional team of suppliers and coordinate equipment deliveries with the Customer’s Construction Contractor.
  • Lead planning efforts for manpower implementation and manage the integration of projects and timelines for internal projects on customer sites.
  • Drive Company Standards uniformly across all project participants and projects.
  • Deliver Built to Suit projects with a strong emphasis on value engineering.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses, to protect company interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Ensure electrical components are planned, laid out, installed, and wired according to drawings, specifications, and electrical codes.
  • Oversee electrical installation of equipment and job performance on sites, ensuring ongoing attention to work-site safety and standards.
  • Follow OSHA standards with a strong emphasis on job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards.
