About The Position

IMA is seeking an Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to expand on our already robust in-house capabilities in the industrial and heavy commercial sectors. Project types include Industrial, industrial maintenance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, data centers, and commercial type projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively coordinate between electrical and other trades.
  • 5 years of electrical project management or general project management experience.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Desire to teach assistant project managers and field employees.
  • Ability to multi-task responsibilities.
  • Computer skills including MS Word, EXCEL, and Project Management platforms such as Procore, and ability to learn new software.
  • Pass background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • A Journeyman or contractor’s license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an electrical install team, including participation in hiring and leading technicians.
  • Maintain long-term owner direct relationships with new and assigned key accounts.
  • Lead or assist with preconstruction activities to backlog future work and build estimates with a thorough understanding of the cost to complete work.
  • Issue purchase orders for equipment, materials, and subcontractors in a timely manner that does not jeopardize the project schedule.
  • Develop project plans, including required resources and timelines, and coordinate with field superintendents, clients, general contractors, and subcontractors to meet completion timetables.
  • Ensure subcontractors are scheduled to complete their activities as required by the scope of work.
  • Work with trade superintendents to ensure the correct number of workers and expertise level for each project is provided, and keep manpower projection sheets updated.
  • Ensure labor and materials meet client specifications through site visits, drawing reviews, and effective client communication.
  • Complete and understand monthly billings, job cost reports, and manpower requirements to maintain profit margins according to estimates.
  • Prepare final as-built drawings, develop operation and maintenance manuals, establish warranty dates, complete punch list items, and collect final billings.
  • Review job costing to ensure alignment with the estimate.
