About The Position

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in St. Louis, MO, to lead electrical design for low- to moderate-complexity projects and support larger, more complex healthcare projects across the region. In this role, you’ll develop building electrical system designs, perform engineering analysis, and provide technical guidance from concept through implementation. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, help manage project budgets and schedules, and contribute to mentoring efforts while delivering high-quality solutions that meet client goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings.
  • Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; energy code compliance and software such as ComCheck; Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards.
  • Proficient with the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
  • Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS, BIM software, and CTC Revit Add In Tools; Proficiency of Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc.
  • Strong training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical system analysis and design for building projects, producing calculations, specifications, and design deliverables per applicable codes and IMEG standards
  • Coordinate with project teams, senior engineers, and external consultants to support delivery of complex projects and integrated design solutions
  • Partner with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical concepts, and maintain professional client relationships
  • Lead project planning activities, including budgeting and scheduling, to meet scope, deadlines, and objectives
  • Document design decisions and client instructions, and monitor progress against percent complete and fee expended
  • Evaluate engineering challenges and develop practical, efficient solutions in collaboration with senior staff and consultants
  • Perform in-process design reviews and apply IMEG quality control processes to meet quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety in all work by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with electrical systems
  • Support multidisciplinary coordination (engineers, architects, and project managers) to meet project goals
  • Identify potential project issues and seek guidance from the Project Manager as needed
  • Oversee work through bidding and construction administration phases
