Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of manufacturing‑focused electrical product engineering experience
  • Proficient with electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar
  • Strong experience with electrical schematics, wiring/harness design, wire‑kit documentation, and BOM commonization
  • Skilled in electrical DfMA and design optimization for manufacturability
  • Experience supporting product transfers, NPI, factory launches, or production issue resolution
  • Strong documentation, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Background in industrial power equipment, control panels, UL‑regulated products, or complex electromechanical assemblies strongly preferred
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing‑focused electrical product engineering with an emphasis on product transfers, new product introduction (NPI), and production readiness
  • Develop and update electrical schematics, wiring/harness designs, wire‑kit documentation, and manufacturing‑ready BOMs
  • Drive electrical DFMA improvements, BOM commonization, and design simplification across product lines
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to resolve production issues and ensure smooth factory launches
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and change records using electrical CAD and document‑control systems
  • Contribute to the reliability, consistency, and manufacturability of industrial electrical products and electromechanical assemblies
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale, and the greater southern Twin Cities metro
