About The Position

The Electrical Power Production Section Supervisor installs, operates, and modifies electrical generating power production plants and Ground/Mobile Power Generation equipment. This role involves checking equipment for serviceability, positioning various engine and generator components, and modifying equipment according to technical publications. The supervisor will accomplish operating and repair tasks, ensuring installed equipment complies with publications, policies, and directives. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and servicing component systems, observing and interpreting instrument readings, and adjusting engine generator systems to maintain proper voltage, current frequency, and synchronization. The role also entails operating high voltage switches and performing electrical power control and distribution functions. Maintenance and repair of electrical power generating equipment and automatic transfer panels are key duties, along with interpreting inspection findings and determining corrective actions. Troubleshooting malfunctions, inspecting parts, and using precision test equipment are also essential. The supervisor will perform corrosion control, inspect and replace gauges and meters, bench check components, and test and calibrate repaired items. Reviewing performance data and maintenance records to assess maintenance adequacy and interpreting data related to electrical power generating systems to prevent potential failures are critical. Advising on installation and repair problems, solving maintenance issues, studying layout drawings and schematics, and analyzing construction and operating characteristics are also part of the role. Developing and establishing maintenance and operating procedures for maximum efficiency and maintaining records, including operation, inspection, and maintenance logs, are required. The supervisor will record meter readings, wear and alignment measurements, fuel consumption, and other data, and furnish information for reports, recommending changes to correct defective equipment or improve operating procedures. Compliance with environmental policies is also expected.
