About The Position

This role involves working within a regulated clean room environment to set up and run wafer fabrication/micro assembly processes according to written standard work instructions. The technician will monitor and evaluate wafer production results, reporting any anomalous findings. Key responsibilities include performing manufacturing tasks related to photolithography, lift-off, thin-film deposition, wet chemical etching, and other semiconductor processes. The role requires operating equipment such as mask aligners, plasma cleaners, furnaces, and PECVD, as well as performing manual micro assembly tasks like die mounting, wire bonding, and optical bonding. Precise alignments are crucial for micro assembly and masking operations. The technician will also assist Manufacturing Engineering in root cause analysis, demonstrate a willingness to help team members, and accurately record work completion and key parameters in documentation systems. Adherence to all safety, EHS protocols, and PPE requirements is mandatory.

Requirements

  • 0-3+ years of manufacturing-related experience: semiconductor experience preferred
  • Experience with at least one of the following fabrication methods: micro assembly, wafer processing, or window photolithography
  • Demonstrate initiative with a curiosity and aptitude to learn.
  • Ability to speak up as appropriate and escalate issues as required.
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate an extremely high level of precision and accuracy with a high attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience grinding or polishing small optics is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Working to written standard work instructions to set up and run wafer fabrication/micro assembly processes within a regulated clean room environment
  • Monitor and evaluate wafer production results and promptly report on anomalous findings
  • Perform wafer fabrication manufacturing tasks associated with photolithography, lift-off, thin-film deposition, wet chemical etching, and other semiconductor processes
  • Operate equipment required for wafer fabrication processes including mask aligner, plasma cleaner, furnace, PECVD, etc.
  • Perform manual micro assembly processes including die mount, wire bonding, and optical bonding.
  • Perform precise alignments as part of micro assembly and masking operations.
  • Aid Manufacturing Engineering in root cause analysis efforts
  • Willingness to assist team members to maintain productivity and efficiency for organizational objectives
  • Record completion of work and key parameters in build documentation or electronic build record system
  • Follow all safety and EHS protocols and follow all PPE requirements
