About The Position

The Electrical-Mechanical Technician is a skilled role for individuals with experience in Industrial maintenance. Level B Technicians independently repair, maintain, and install production and manufacturing equipment. This position requires a deeper understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with increased responsibility and minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmissions, and lubrication.
  • High school diploma or GED; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Capability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team, providing support to production as needed.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
  • Hands-on experience with PLC/automation systems
  • Solid background in manufacturing and food processing industries, with experience in optimizing production processes and ensuring equipment reliability.
  • Experience in writing and executing comprehensive preventative maintenance tasks,
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Proficient in using computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and generating reports.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and develop junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all Stratas GMP standards.
  • Independently repair and install production and manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions.
  • Use advanced hand tools and electrical/mechanical tools proficiently.
  • Maintain and promote a clean and safe work environment.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Mentor junior technicians and apprentices, providing guidance and training.
