About The Position
The Astro Machine Works Electrical/Mechanical Assembly internship and co-op program provides an opportunity for current students to obtain valuable, applicable work experience while pursuing their technical education. Interns can make an impact on the business as well as to build essential technical, analytical and personal leadership skills. Interns will have the ability to work side-by-side with a highly skilled mentor in their field. Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to apply for any available full-time positions. Astro Machine works offers on-the-job training as well as opportunities for any additional training and education.
Requirements
- Applicants must be attending a career technical program, 2yr, 4yr or other post secondary training in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Building of customer specified equipment of various sizes, styles and complexities
- Read and comprehend a variety of different types of customer drawings and specifications including work instructions, procedures, etc.
- Use manual and power hand tools, gages, etc.
- Using basic knowledge of electrical panel building and associated wiring
- Help solve assembly problems
- Finishing/inspecting parts per print specifications
