About The Position

This internship/co-op position focuses on assisting with the development and testing of electronic products at SoundOff Signal. Interns will gain hands-on experience in PCB prototyping, assembly validation, troubleshooting, and documentation. The role requires enrollment in a Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering program and offers exposure to various aspects of product development in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering college program.
• Able to read and understand an electrical schematic.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies, including SMT circuitry.
• Proficient using Multi-meters and Oscilloscopes.
• Soldering skills.
• Proficiency of the basic Microsoft software packages including Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with people.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Electronic assemblies and troubleshooting.
• Able to use PCB design software (CadSoft’s Eagle, Altium Designer).
• Automotive Electronic wiring background.
• General mechanical aptitude in a shop environment (hand tools, light duty power tools, calipers, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Build and test PCB prototypes of Surface Mount and Though Hole Technology.
• Perform PCB assembly validation testing to product specifications.
• Troubleshoot and test prototypes.
• Work with Project Engineer to resolve issues.
• Assist with creation/maintenance of initial product Bills of Materials.
• Assist with product validation testing.
• Read and follow SoundOff Signal Work Instructions.
• Perform job consistently and without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
• Other duties as assigned.
