About The Position

Join Cargill as an Electrical Mechanic and help keep our plant operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you’ll maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, support equipment upgrades, and assist with programming changes under guidance. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with automation, and contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbal and written.
  • Minimum one year of experience in industrial electrical automation and mechanical maintenance.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors, including at heights of 4 feet or more, and capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation and while using appropriate PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklifts or similar mobile equipment.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP.
  • Experience with inventory or parts management systems.
  • Experience performing maintenance trades such as welding, pipefitting, or fabrication.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, and bearing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automation systems across the facility.
  • Troubleshoot moderately complex machinery and automation issues, including motor controls, sensors, and control devices.
  • Modify and implement programming on computer-controlled systems with guidance.
  • Support reliability improvements and provide feedback on equipment performance and asset health.
  • Assist with the design, installation, and upgrade of new or modified equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain equipment safety performance and compliance standards while following established maintenance practices.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts with advance notice.
  • Other duties as assigned
