About The Position

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry to find skilled Electrical Mechanics (Level 2) for the VC-25B Program in San Antonio, TX. This is a full-time, 9-month consulting opportunity where your expertise will contribute to mission-critical aircraft. As an Electrical Mechanic, you will modify, install, and troubleshoot advanced electrical systems on a high-profile aircraft platform, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience performing duties aligned with aircraft electrical work.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic theories and systems.
  • Experience fabricating and routing wire bundles, including installations without existing wiring.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift depending on business needs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift ~35 pounds, and pass visual/color acuity tests.
  • High school diploma or GED, plus 1+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including Hazardous Energy/Lockout-Tagout.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Proficient in Electrical Schematic Reading.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Depot Level/Modification maintenance.
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or electric elevating equipment.
  • Ability to support fluctuating mission priorities, including overtime, weekends, and potential travel (up to 25%).

Responsibilities

  • Perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications on wiring and system components.
  • Execute complex connector terminations (shielded wires, coaxial cables, fiber optics).
  • Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, wire diagrams, technical orders, and process specifications.
  • Seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses per standard processes.
  • Conduct operational testing, visual inspections, and quality checks on aircraft electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and environmental systems at the organizational and depot maintenance levels.
  • Assist in aircraft bench and flight-line testing following DOD, OEM, and company standards.
  • Prioritize work to meet demanding schedules while adhering to safety, FOD control, and tool management requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams—General Mechanics, Structures, Avionics—to meet cost and schedule goals.
  • Mentor junior team members; may lead teams on complex tasks.
  • Work safely in confined spaces, on ladders, elevated platforms, or noisy environments while using required PPE.
