Electrical Manufacturing NPI Engineer

Arista Networks•Santa Clara, CA
•$140,000 - $175,000

About The Position

Arista Networks is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Electrical Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to lead manufacturing readiness and transfer for complex data center networking equipment, including high-speed switches, routers, and optical transport gear. The role calls for expertise in high-speed signal integrity and high-density electronics, cross-functional leadership, and a track record of bringing high-volume, high-quality products from concept to mass production. The Electrical NPI Engineer partners with the HW/Mech/Thermal Engineering team on new product development and manufacturing readiness. The role is a link between Design, NPI, and full-scale production, working with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing processes, conduct DFX reviews, manage product lifecycle activities, and provide sustaining support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • At least 3 years dedicated to NPI and successful high-volume product launches in the data center networking equipment industry, such as switches, routers, or accelerators.
  • Expert-level knowledge of high-layer-count PCBA manufacturing, specialized BGA/FC-BGA soldering and rework, and process control for large-format electronic boards.
  • Proven experience designing and qualifying production Functional Test systems and managing test coverage for complex network systems.
  • Expertise applying advanced statistical and quality tools, including PFMEA, SPC, and DOE.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience managing manufacturing processes at global Contract Manufacturers or ODMs specializing in complex networking or telecom equipment.
  • Hands-on experience manufacturing and testing systems incorporating water cooling, liquid cooling, or immersive cooling for network processors.
  • Experience with signal-integrity test equipment and analysis techniques such as TDR and VNA, as well as optical power and high-speed data transmission.
  • Fluency in advanced data analysis tools such as JMP and Python for statistical analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive stakeholders in a fast-paced technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the manufacturing-readiness process for complex, next-generation data center networking products.
  • Plan production-line layout, capacity modeling, and capital equipment procurement to support rapid production ramp-up.
  • Define and maintain the manufacturing technology roadmap, identifying and implementing processes and equipment for advanced packaging, high-current components, and high-layer-count PCBs.
  • Lead DFM, DFA, and DFT design reviews and influence product architecture to improve yield, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Address DFX requirements for high-speed interconnects, optical modules, and sensitive RF paths.
  • Manage manufacturing and testing of complex thermal solutions, including cold plates and manifolds for water or liquid cooling.
  • Drive component selection and supplier process audits, emphasizing high-reliability components and clocking/timing circuits.
  • Architect and implement manufacturing processes and System-Level Functional Test strategies, including traffic generation and analysis, full line-rate testing, and high-temperature burn-in.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of Automated Test Equipment development, ensuring accurate BER and signal-quality measurement and alignment with fleet deployment requirements and system diagnostics.
  • Provide sustaining engineering guidance to resolve complex post-launch signal-integrity, optical-module, and system-performance issues.
  • Collaborate with the HW/Mech/Thermal Engineering team and cross-functional partners on product development, manufacturing readiness, and product lifecycle support.
