About The Position

The Electrical Maintenance role supports a safe work environment and production efficiency by applying established safety procedures and standards, providing plant engineering support, troubleshooting equipment, and coordinating engineering and maintenance projects. The position contributes to the design, improvement, and fabrication of blow molding and auxiliary equipment, develops cost-saving measures, prepares technical drawings, and assists with plant layouts. It also plans and coordinates assigned project work from inception through commissioning and operations, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, engineering practices, and Silgan Plastics standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with established standards and guidelines; know and apply written safety procedures.
• Provide engineering, PPE, or training solutions for high-exposure areas based on near-miss and accident reports.
• Inspect work areas for unsafe acts and complete projects and assignments safely and efficiently.
• Investigate and take appropriate action to maintain and improve production efficiency within established standards and guidelines.
• Provide plant engineering support, including PLC programming and program design, and electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Support the design, improvement, and fabrication of internally developed and purchased blow molding and auxiliary equipment.
• Develop and implement cost-saving measures for current production methods and machines.
• Provide detailed electrical and mechanical drawings as needed.
• Assist with development of plant layouts and improvements.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Establish and maintain project schedules from inception through commissioning and operations.
• Coordinate technical activities on assigned projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering and maintenance work.
• Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and Silgan Plastics standards.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination among disciplines, project participants, and management on assigned projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
