About The Position

Nucor Insulated Panel Group is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician to support continuous manufacturing operations at our Prince George facility. This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment supporting production lines and facility utilities. The Electrical Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills, a safety‑first mindset, and the ability to work effectively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree in Industrial Electrical Technology, Electrical Maintenance, or related field OR 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely work with voltage up to 600V for industrial electrical systems.
  • Basic computer skills (CMMS usage, Microsoft Outlook and other Apps).

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-craft work history preferred.
  • Knowledge in hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical design, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) troubleshooting.
  • Experience in a continuous line manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems, including: Motors, motor starters, VFDs, and soft starters; 480V / 277V / 120V power distribution systems; Control panels, MCCs, and electrical enclosures.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and support PLC‑based control systems, including I/O, sensors, HMI interfaces, and basic ladder logic diagnostics.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one‑line drawings.
  • Support troubleshooting of production equipment involving automation, sensors, encoders, safety circuits, and interlocks.
  • Install, modify, and maintain electrical components in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company standards.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, and continuous improvement of new or modified equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanical maintenance, engineering, and operations to resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Accurately document work performed, electrical changes, and PM activities.
  • Support plant utilities and facility electrical systems as required.
  • Perform other maintenance‑related duties as assigned.
