About The Position

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment. This role involves working with PLCs, inspecting safety devices, completing hydraulic and pneumatic circuit modifications, leading projects, setting up VFD/DRIVERS parameters, and ensuring assigned areas are clean and organized. The technician will also be responsible for prioritizing activities, drafting and validating SOPs, supporting the maintenance department during unplanned downtime, responding to radio calls, and being available for remote or on-site support outside of normal work hours. Additionally, the role includes driving task completion for reactive repairs and proactive work, ensuring all PMs are completed, identifying PM updates, and suggesting skills development for maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical code.
  • 4 or more years industrial maintenance experience.
  • 2 years industrial electrical experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
  • Formal PLC training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or distribution of electrical energy.
  • Installs, maintains, and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic PLCs lay out and trouble shoot of analogic/digital signals and network communication.
  • Inspect and maintain the safety devices related to the process equipment.
  • Complete basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuit modifications.
  • Ability to lead projects and complete successfully.
  • Set up basic VFD/DRIVERS’s parameters and troubleshoot alarms.
  • Ensures assigned area and satellite shop area are clean and organized.
  • Provide the supervisor a list of parts required to complete tasks.
  • Prioritize activities for assigned areas (PMs/Work Orders/Inspections).
  • Draft, request, and validate SOPs for assigned area to guarantee other team members are trained on documentation.
  • Support the rest of the Maintenance Department during unplanned downtime (call in or phone call).
  • Respond to radio calls in assigned area.
  • Be available for remote support or on-site support outside of normal work schedule.
  • Responsible to drive area task completion for reactive repairs and proactive work.
  • Responsible for completion for all PM’s in the assigned area.
  • Identify PMs that need update to improve process.
  • Suggest and request maintenance personnel skills development when required.
