About The Position

The Electrical Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing regular maintenance functions, setting up and preparing machines/equipment for operation, and verifying equipment functionality before returning it to production. This role requires completing work orders, utilizing an iPad for assigned tasks, and initiating/performing preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is in proper working order and to prevent breakdowns. The mechanic will respond promptly to maintenance calls with minimal supervision, dismantle equipment for repairs, and verify corrections. This position also involves troubleshooting 480VAC and DC circuits and systems, performing electrical troubleshooting on production equipment, and inspecting mechanical equipment for proper operation. The role requires knowledge of multi-meters, low-voltage troubleshooting, electrical drawings/schematics, plant machinery, and preventative maintenance methods. Additionally, the mechanic must be able to identify equipment malfunctions and safety hazards, operate power equipment (with training), and possess knowledge of commercial refrigeration, industrial plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC operations. The role involves servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and equipment based on mechanical principles, determining causes of operating errors, and understanding verbal communication.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and troubleshooting skills for 480VAC and DC circuits and systems.
  • Working knowledge of multi-meters, checking voltage, amps, and ohms.
  • Excels in low-voltage troubleshooting.
  • Works with electrical drawings/schematics.
  • Knowledge of plant machinery and preventative maintenance methods.
  • Ability to identify equipment malfunctions and safety hazards.
  • Ability to be trained in forklift and power jack equipment and able to operate a variety of power equipment.
  • Knowledge and skill of commercial refrigeration or industrial plumbing and electrical systems, structural heating, and A/C operations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Performs regular maintenance functions, sets up machines, and prepares machines/equipment for operation.
  • Verifies equipment is functioning properly before returning to production.
  • Completes the required work order.
  • Utilizes a provided iPad to access and complete assigned work.
  • Initiates & performs preventive maintenance measures on building and equipment in order to maintain proper working order and prevent breakdowns.
  • Completes all work orders and checks out parts.
  • Responds to maintenance calls/requests promptly with minimal supervision.
  • Dismantles equipment/machines and makes proper repairs.
  • Verifies corrections before the task or job is complete.
  • Responds with personnel via two-way radio.
  • Performs electrical troubleshooting of production equipment and makes necessary repairs.
  • Inspects mechanical equipment for proper operation.
  • Notifies supervisor or makes corrections to equipment.
  • Services, repairs, adjusts, and tests machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
  • Determines causes of operating errors and decides what to do about them.
  • Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made and asking questions as appropriate.
