About The Position

Grant County PUD is hiring Electrical Maintenance Engineers at Engineer I through Engineer V levels for its Maintenance Engineering team. The position supports Operations and Maintenance at the Priest Rapids and Wanapum hydro power generation facilities, including the Wanapum and Priest Rapids hydro dams, the WAN 230kV Switchyard, the Priest Rapids Hatchery System, and other Power Production support facilities. This is an individual-contributor, non-leadership role providing daily electrical engineering support, troubleshooting, maintenance and asset-management expertise. The level of responsibility and expected technical proficiency increase by classification, from building basic knowledge at Engineer I to expert-level performance and subject-matter leadership at Engineer V. The role works with a broad range of electrical and control equipment, including distribution systems, PLCs, VFDs, control systems, generators, transformers, SCADA, protective relays, circuit breakers, battery systems, bridge cranes, and motor control centers. Work includes supporting asset management, maintenance planning standards, regulatory compliance, outage reviews, equipment testing and technical documentation. Engineer V also provides project-management support for medium and large projects, including budget forecasts, scheduling, coordination, construction, and commissioning. The position may be eligible for a partial hybrid arrangement. Most work is performed in a standard office, with some field work in industrial environments. Typical shifts may be 8, 9, or 10 hours. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an Engineering Technology field and a valid, unrestricted state driver’s license are required for all levels. Grant County PUD administers a background check as part of the hiring process for selected applicants.
