About The Position

This role is generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments under general supervision. The primary responsibilities include supporting site management with contractor oversight and contract administration, including field coordination of activities and administrative tasks related to contract documentation in Purchaser’s Unifier for the assigned discipline. This involves adherence to project specifications, drawings, general conditions, and special conditions. The role also requires ensuring contractor adherence to site safety procedures and programs, including behavior-based safety (BBS) and the Stop Work Authority (SWA) program. Participation in Southern Safety Trilateral (SST) front-line supervisor training is also expected. The Worker shall adhere to and ensure onsite contractor adherence to site quality procedures and programs, including participation in the quality surveillance program utilizing the Purchaser’s software. Daily activities and interactions with contractors must be documented through the Daily Log form in Unifier. The Worker will attend and participate in necessary Project meetings, become familiar with and interpret technical specifications and drawings, and coordinate receipt of material and/or equipment delivery. Deliverables as defined by the role or directed by Purchaser’s onsite representatives must be completed. The Worker will ensure contractors follow and adhere to all LOTO and confirmed space procedures, serving as Purchaser’s representative for LOTO processes. Assistance will be provided to the Purchaser with development of scopes of work for competitive inquiries, year-end contractor evaluations, contract closeout activities, and invoice validation. Daily activities will be coordinated to support the Project with Purchaser’s onsite representatives. The Worker must understand their role/responsibilities and be able to respond to site/project conditions on behalf of the Purchaser’s onsite representatives in a timely manner with minimal direction or supervision. Any incidents, unsafe conditions, unusual activities, or unforeseen circumstances must be immediately reported to the Purchaser’s onsite representative.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
  • Ability to relate easily to others in the business community.
  • Ability to handle stress with poise.
  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.
  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members.

  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.
  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.

Responsibilities
