About The Position

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This involves rethinking every layer of the stack, from acquiring power to designing and operating data centers. The company operates with a focus on extreme ownership, velocity, first principles, and a passion for the problem space. This role is for an Electrical Lead in R&D, responsible for the entire power distribution system from behind-the-meter generation through to the rack, designed as a cohesive system.

Requirements

  • Led electrical design for data centers, generation, or heavy industrial power.
  • Released MV and LV distribution designs that have been built and energized.
  • Personally review studies including coordination, short circuit, and arc flash.
  • Qualified major electrical equipment with vendors.
  • Make and own system-level topology calls.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license
  • Experience with BTM and microgrid topologies
  • Experience with ETAP or SKM
  • Experience with modular electrical rooms

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering for R&D, covering power distribution from behind-the-meter generation through the rack, designed as one system.
  • Own the electrical reference designs, including one-lines, studies, and equipment standards, and be responsible for their release and defense.
  • Set the technical bar by ensuring coordination and arc-flash studies are checked and vendor packages are thoroughly reviewed.
  • Grow the team while tackling novel problems related to new topologies, voltages, and equipment.
