About The Position

Ongaro and Sons, a family-operated business serving Marin and Sonoma counties since 1932, is seeking an Electrical Lead Install Technician. This role involves performing electrical installations on various systems and equipment, including meter main panels, sub panels, outlets, switches, and circuits. The technician will also be responsible for advanced troubleshooting and potentially replacing entire systems in residential or light commercial settings. The position emphasizes providing excellent customer service, understanding electrical systems, interpreting manuals and work orders, and identifying potential HVAC and Plumbing issues to refer to the appropriate technicians. Additionally, the role includes educating customers on new systems, complying with safety regulations, and leading/training electrical apprentices. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • At least 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Installer
  • Maintain ET card/CE credits for Journeyman License
  • Able to follow directions, read electrical schematics, and site plan/blueprint drawings
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to use an iPad effectively
  • Clean driving record
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Performing installations to all or part of the residential or light commercial electrical system.
  • Performing repairs or replacing parts or entire systems without supervision in homes or light commercial locations in Sonoma & Marin Counties.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform the required repair or installation.
  • Identifying HVAC issues (ductwork concerns, equipment condition) and referring to the office to schedule a HVAC technician.
  • Identifying Plumbing issues and referring to the office to schedule a Plumbing technician.
  • Educating customers on their new systems and the operations of their equipment.
  • Complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Ability to lead and train electrical apprentices.
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
