About The Position

The Boeing Company, specifically Boeing Defense & Space (BDS), is seeking an Experienced Electrical Lab Technical Designer to support B-52 Bombers Lab Operations in Oklahoma City, OK. This role involves leading the development, maintenance, and release of electrical/mechanical drawings, system designs, and engineering documentation, adhering to company, industry, and governmental standards. The designer will utilize design tools for configuration control and incorporate design changes. Responsibilities include coordinating laboratory activities such as maintenance, repairs, and personnel training, as well as engineering system design and functionality validation. The position also entails leading teams in the development and review of product installation and part designs, guiding technicians in integration, fabrication, modification, setup, and checkout. Furthermore, the role requires coordinating cross-functional activities, managing communication with internal partners and external suppliers, and overseeing the work of team members to ensure quality and consistency. The designer will work independently, making technical decisions and providing leadership to a team of technicians.

Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds within an 8-hour shift.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading design and fabrication of wire harnesses/cables.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using power measurement and test instrumentation (e.g., power supplies, power meters, analyzers).
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and developing engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience using volt/ohm meters and electrical system schematics.
  • Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • Coordinates cross-functional activities and manages communication and deliverables with internal partners and external suppliers.
  • Reviews, assigns, and oversees work performed by team members and collaborators to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision, making technical decisions and providing leadership to a team of technicians.
