About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Intern to work alongside licensed electricians on residential electrical projects throughout the Columbus, Ohio area. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in residential electrical systems and is ideal for students or individuals pursuing a career as a residential electrician. The Electrical Intern will assist with installations, repairs, remodeling projects, and service calls while learning industry best practices, safety standards, and residential electrical procedures in a real-world environment.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or recently completed an electrical, technical, or trade school program preferred
  • Strong interest in residential electrical work and skilled trades
  • Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, and safety practices is a plus
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Must pass a background screening and have a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation to residential job sites throughout the Columbus, OH area
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working in residential construction and remodeling environments, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while following OSHA and company safety standards
  • Exposure to dust, noise, electrical systems, and active job sites

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians with residential electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades
  • Support wiring of new homes, remodels, and residential service calls
  • Help install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, and electrical panels
  • Assist with conduit installation, cable pulling, and device trimming
  • Troubleshoot basic residential electrical issues under supervision
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain tools, materials, and a clean, organized job site
  • Learn to read and interpret residential electrical layouts and diagrams
  • Communicate professionally with team members and homeowners when needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
