About The Position

Huntsman is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, Illinois. This position will report to the Manager Title. We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for our Polyurethanes organization at our plant located in Ringwood, Illinois. Under indirect supervision, perform maintenance and repairs on the facility’s electrical, instrumentation, and machine control systems, ensuring that all work is completed within industrial standards, codes, and time frame expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Prior industrial or significant commercial electrical experience is required.
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to discern colors for interpretation of color-coded trending and/or reading of color-coded plant instrumentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools effectively.
  • Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

  • Journeyman Electrician's License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work comfortably as part of a team or solo.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits and instrumentation utilizing test equipment and documentation.
  • Install and maintain various types of building electrical systems, instrumentation, machine controls, PLCs, HMIs, and other plant electrical equipment with voltages up to 480VAC.
  • Monitor the performance of electrical systems and instrumentation equipment for hazards, performance, or replacement.
  • Interpret blueprints; work from work orders, sketches, and/or verbal instructions to modify electrical equipment.
  • Appropriately use electric test equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, and equipment.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance program and associated documentation.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system for work assignments and documentation.
  • Perform mechanical duties as needed, such as initial repair troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
