About The Position

This role involves performing calibration and documentation of various measurement instruments. The team member must be able to work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures. Assigned tasks include testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments/equipment. The role requires working knowledge of various measurement topics, electrical systems, control methods, and automated systems. The technician will use hand tools, work from elevated areas, and operate heavy industrial equipment. Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, is necessary. The position also involves maintaining positive customer and employee relations, achieving performance expectations, and performing accurate administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • Ability to obtain Journeyman’s Electrical License upon state required qualifications being met.
  • Working knowledge of the following topics: pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity and mass measurements, AC and DC control methods, 24V – 480V electrical systems and troubleshooting, VFD’s, burner controls, smart meters, PLC/DCS control methods, automated systems, load cells, control valves, blueprint reading, mathematics, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Must be able to use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, and drill press.)
  • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics or Industrial Electricity preferred, but not required.
  • Five years experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and documentation of: Flow Measurement, Level Measurement, Pressure, Temperature, Analytical Instrumentation
  • Testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments / equipment.
  • Work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and others as required) utilizing fall protection equipment when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Communications with all team members to assist the development of short and long range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job to include an up to date documented personal tool lists.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
