About The Position

This role involves performing calibration and documentation of various measurement and control instruments. The technician will work in a team-oriented, safety-conscious environment, adhering to strict safety guidelines. Responsibilities include testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments/equipment. The position requires a working knowledge of various measurement topics, electrical systems, control methods, and the ability to use hand and power tools. The technician will also operate heavy industrial equipment and maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • Ability to obtain Journeyman’s Electrical License upon state required qualifications being met.
  • Working knowledge of pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity and mass measurements.
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC control methods.
  • Working knowledge of 24V – 480V electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of VFD’s, burner controls, smart meters, PLC/DCS control methods, automated systems, load cells, control valves, blueprint reading, mathematics, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics or Industrial Electricity preferred.
  • Five years experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments/equipment.
  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and bobcats.
  • Use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, and drill press).
  • Work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and others as required) utilizing fall protection equipment when needed.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job and supply a documented personal tool list.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short and long-range planning aligned with company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
