About The Position

This role involves detailed engineering applications to initiate, develop, and install reliable and cost-effective instrumentation, electronic hardware, and custom software solutions for area process control platforms and global communication networks. The position requires implementing multiple projects using the best available technology, adhering to good engineering practices, and applicable safety codes and regulations. A key aspect is supporting the Production and Maintenance Departments in the safe operation of new and existing systems through timely troubleshooting and technical analysis. Knowledge of basic, site-wide electrical power distribution methods and systems is considered a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of chemical or industrial plant engineering experience and/or maintenance responsibilities in support manufacturing operations specializing in digital based instrumentation, electronic devices, digital equipment and network based communication architecture.
  • Electrical Engineer, 10+ years of experience
  • Certificate(s) or demonstrated experience in PC operating systems and associated applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of basic, site wide electrical power distribution methods and systems.
  • Experience supporting capital and small project execution, including electrical/instrument design, equipment specification, field installation, and commissioning/startup support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrumentation engineering support, including specification, loop development, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and support field instrumentation and electrical systems tied to process operations.
  • Support critical plant systems (boilers, water systems, flare, etc.).
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of wiring, panels, signals, and control interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain drawings (AutoCAD), loop diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Work closely with maintenance to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Support electrical/control integration for motors, MCCs, and field devices.
  • Capital Project Management with scope and estimate design decisions.
  • Supervise I/E/C/N contractors for new project installations.
  • Help direct Site’s I&E staff with necessary repairs as needed.
