Requirements

Technical degree in drafting or similar.
Additional courses in CAD software.
Practical experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc).
Technical design skills.
Knowledge of engineering and construction.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Superb work ethic and ability to accept feedback.
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
Professional appearance.
Ability to work on job sites gathering information.
Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Revit 3D modeling software will be a plus.

Responsibilities

Draft detailed drawings for the organization.
Understand written and verbal instructions.
Draft technical drawings.
Implement feedback from engineers and designers.
Visit sites.
Keep up to date with CAD software.
Work hours necessary to meet deadlines.
Explain technical aspects clearly to both the team and the client.
Be highly knowledgeable of various CAD software formats.
Develop the required Electrical Distribution and Design documents necessary for heavy industrial systems based on direction provided by others.
Develop technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Interpret project design directives provided by clients, engineers, and designers to ensure all drawings are completed as required.
Develop technical drawings using CAD software.
Visit sites to gather information and determine limitations and feasibility of designs.
Remain professional when feedback is delivered, and implement any changes to drafts as soon as possible.
Ensure drawings are compliant with codes and standards.
Communicate potential design issues to engineers and senior designers.
Conduct research when required.
