The E&I Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical and instrumentation systems in compliance with all company, departmental, and safety standards, including NFPA 70E requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant Electrical and Instrumentation experience OR Two-year technical degree in Electronics or Instrumentation OR Completion of a formal Electrical/Instrumentation apprenticeship program
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call assignments as required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic and instrument control systems
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics
  • Instrumentation Technical Training Certificate or equivalent
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety training

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical and process control instrumentation systems.
  • Maintain and service PLCs, distributed control systems (DCS), and associated instrumentation loops.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including routine calibration of instruments.
  • Support process automation and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Identify control system issues and implement corrective actions to restore standard operating conditions.
  • Redline electrical drawings and collaborate with engineering to update technical documentation.
  • Recommend and order spare parts, tools, and stockroom materials as needed.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external service providers.
  • Mentor and train employees in electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting.
  • Utilize SAP for material acquisition and inventory management.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and site Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities.
