About The Position

The West Michigan Construction Institute (WMCI) is seeking a Part-Time Electrical Instructor to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to apprentices in the Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship Program. The instructor will connect real-world electrical experience with practical application, helping apprentices build technical knowledge and confidence. The position involves instructing using Mike Holt curriculum and reinforcing National Electrical Code (NEC) concepts, creating dynamic learning environments, leading hands-on lab activities, maintaining accurate student records, and participating in professional development days to uphold WMCI's standards for safety, instruction, and program delivery.

Requirements

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
  • Minimum of five years of field experience in the electrical trade.
  • Strong, current understanding of the National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to adult learners is essential.

  • Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred.
