About The Position

As an Electrical / Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Plant Support Engineer at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, TX, your responsibilities will include serving as the system expert specifically in electrical or I&C systems in support of operating requirements. You will provide solutions for problem solving, decision making, and troubleshooting. This role involves trending system parameters, monitoring performance of assigned systems, and preparing technical engineering products such as reports, evaluations, and equipment failure analyses. You will also develop/verify outage and routine maintenance activity lists, and develop and complete investigations and corrective actions in accordance with the Corrective Action Program. Performing field walk-downs and interfacing with other groups to resolve emergent and routine plant issues is also a key part of this role. Additionally, you will review schedules and maintenance work orders to ensure efficient work implementation/scheduling, champion system design change improvements and enhancements, and actively seek formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand technical policies, practices, and procedures. Developing effective working relationships with other departments and employees within your own work group to establish a professional network is important. You will also perform Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering Field required (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical ability.
  • Able to deliver quality and accurate work within established deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to make formal technical presentations to various management levels.
  • Ability to work extended hours, shift schedules and perform on-call duties when necessary.
  • Must reside within site-specific Emergency Response Organization (ERO) response time.
  • Support 30-day outage schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Electrical and/or I&C systems is preferred.
  • Prior plant system engineering experience, including experience with Electrical and I&C components, is preferred.
  • Being able to work independently with little supervisory involvement is preferred.
