About The Position

Prismecs is supporting a temporary 480V standby power system at a client site in Marshfield, Missouri. The plant consists of nine 1,250 kW Tier 4 diesel generators and will be operated and maintained by Prismecs for a 12-month assignment. Site-team mobilization is planned for the first week of November 2026. The Electrical & I&C Technician will perform preventive and corrective electrical, instrumentation, and controls maintenance on the generator sets and the 480V distribution/interconnection equipment. This is a hands-on field role requiring diesel power plant electrical/I&C experience, with hands-on Volvo engine control system experience mandatory.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of diesel power plant electrical and I&C maintenance experience.
  • Mandatory hands-on Volvo engine control system experience.
  • Working knowledge of generators, LV/480V systems, switchgear, protection relays, PLCs, and plant instrumentation.
  • Ability to read single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and control drawings.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and pre-employment screening.
  • U.S.-based candidates only.
  • Candidates must currently be based in the United States, be able to work on site in Marshfield, Missouri (or relocate to the area), and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for Prismecs without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Prismecs is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ATS, transformers, and generator paralleling controls.
  • Temporary power, bridge power, or standby power-system experience.
  • Electrician license or NFPA 70E training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on generators, controls, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Troubleshoot generator and engine-control issues, paralleling controls, and start/stop signal problems.
  • Maintain and test protection relays, PLCs, instrumentation, ATS connections, and transformer connections.
  • Inspect cables, camlock connections, pigtails, distribution panels, grounding, and bonding.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and coordination with the client and licensed electrical contractor.
  • Document maintenance activities, alarms, and test results and report findings to the Site O&M Lead.
  • Follow electrical safety requirements, including LOTO, NFPA 70E practices, and permit requirements.
