Electrical Helper - Peoria
About The Position
SpartanX is seeking a dependable, motivated Electrical Helper to support electricians and residential solar field operations. This is a field-based opportunity for someone developing a career in the electrical trade, with hands-on experience alongside experienced electricians and eligible hours logged toward an electrical license. The role involves supporting residential solar electrical work, installations, service upgrades, modifications, troubleshooting, and corrective work under the direction of a licensed electrician. The helper will also prepare equipment, tools, and materials, maintain safe and organized job sites, and work with electricians, installers, and field leadership to complete projects efficiently. The position offers full-time work at $18–$25 per hour based on experience, training and skill development, and opportunities for career advancement within SpartanX.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, and safety practices.
- Interest in developing a long-term career in the electrical trade.
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively alongside licensed electricians.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely lift and carry materials and equipment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous electrical experience preferred.
- Solar or residential construction experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with residential solar electrical work.
- Support installation of electrical equipment, conduit, wiring, disconnects, and related components.
- Assist with service upgrades and electrical modifications.
- Prepare electrical equipment, tools, and materials for installation.
- Perform electrical tasks under the direction of a licensed electrician.
- Support troubleshooting and corrective electrical work.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and electrical equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Follow NEC requirements, company procedures, and safety standards.
- Work with electricians, installers, and field leadership to complete projects efficiently.
