About The Position

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading an electrical crew on commercial construction sites. Their primary role is to ensure planning, laying out, installing, and wiring electrical components are completed as per project drawings, specifications, and in accordance with applicable electrical codes. This posting covers all three levels of the Electrical Foreman role — Level I, Level II, and Level III — each with progressively greater experience, crew responsibility, and project scope. Requirements

  • Journeyman or Master Electrical license
  • Customer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationship
  • Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Initiative for generating business opportunities and being proactive in locating new clients
  • Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to lower-level managers, subcontractors, and construction workers
  • Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining complex information to clients and construction workers, and discussing technical details with other building specialists
  • Technical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with contracts and technical drawings Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on time
  • Writing skills for writing budgets, proposals, and plans, along with documenting work progress for clients and others involved
  • Proven experience as a Foreman on commercial construction sites
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Strong proficiency in software and tools (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam, Procore, Plangrid) and Microsoft Office Suite — required for Foreman III, preferred for Foreman II

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel
  • Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and mentoring employees and contractors
  • Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs
  • Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, hardhats, and procedures
  • Managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites
  • Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
  • Ordering and managing day-to-day materials and managing quoting of materials (Foreman II & III)
  • Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials
